A home in the 700 block of Scarlett Drive was heavily damaged in a fire Wednesday morning (3/27/24). The call went out just before 6:30am and the Cumberland County Fire Department says they arrived to find the house 50% to 60% involved. Several apparatus responded with about a dozen personnel who did an excellent job in containing the blaze. The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen area and no one was inside when crews arrived on scene. Sadly, one dog was killed but another dog was saved and is reportedly doing well.
