A Crossville Man was taken into custody Sunday morning after he was found to be in possession of a truck belonging to the Cumberland County Board of Education.  Crossville Police were dispatched to the Dollar General Market on Miller Avenue around 7:30am to reports of a suspicious male tracking black paint throughout the store.  Police located 23-year-old Lonnie Paul Davis who had black and white paint on his hands.  Mr. Davis claimed to be dumpster diving.  Near the dumpster was a white 2013 Ford F150 with government tags.  The door decal showing it to be a Cumberland County Board of Education truck was painted over with white paint.  Further investigation revealed that a chain had been cut on the maintenance gate at Cumberland County High School and video showed a male matching Mr. Davis driving the truck and then stopping and throwing items over the fence and putting them in the back of the truck. The truck is then seen driving behind the Dollar General Market.  A maintenance employee was able to confirm the truck belonged to the school.  The value of the truck was estimated at $5,500 and the items removed from the school were estimated at $3,000.  Damage to the truck was estimated at $3,000.   Davis was charged with theft of property, vandalism, burglary, driving on a revoked/suspended license, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of methamphetamine.  Mr. Davis has been banned from all Cumberland County Schools, the BOE and the Dollar General Market.
